Role Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for incubated products and technologies. Day-to-day tasks include creating and reviewing CAD models and engineering drawings, performing basic design calculations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine product concepts into manufacturable designs. The role involves prototyping, coordinating with fabrication and testing teams, and iterating designs based on performance, safety, and cost considerations. The engineer will also document design specifications, support design reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kasaragod.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and materials.
• Candidates should possess applied skills in Machine Design and Product Design, including design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and 3D modeling, and be able to produce clear technical drawings.
• Relevant skills such as problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret standards and specifications are beneficial.
• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is preferred; prior internship or industry experience in mechanical or product design is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Kasaragod, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly in written and verbal form is required.
