About the Role

We are looking for an AI Video Artist who can use generative AI as a professional filmmaking and production tool.

This is not simply a prompt-writing role. We want a visually driven artist who understands cinematography, composition, lighting, camera movement, continuity and storytelling—and can use AI to create compelling, commercially usable video content.

You will work closely with our CGI, 3D animation, compositing and editing teams to create visuals that would otherwise be difficult, expensive or impossible to produce through conventional filmmaking.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality AI-generated videos for product commercials, advertising campaigns, brand films and social media.
• Develop text-to-video, image-to-video and reference-to-video workflows.
• Transform static images, concepts and keyframes into cinematic video sequences.
• Design controlled camera movements, transitions and visual transformations.
• Generate cinematic environments, backgrounds and visual worlds around products.
• Create surreal and visually striking advertising concepts.
• Maintain consistency in products, characters, environments, lighting and visual style across multiple shots.
• Develop AI-generated footage that integrates seamlessly with 3D CGI, live-action footage and visual effects.
• Collaborate with CGI artists to combine accurate 3D product assets with AI-generated environments and motion.
• Create concept films, mood films and previsualisation sequences for client campaigns.
• Extend, transform, enhance and clean up existing video footage using AI tools.
• Generate reference frames, storyboards and visual treatments to support creative development.
• Upscale and enhance generated footage for professional delivery.
• Iterate on generations to achieve the required visual quality, composition and continuity.
• Work with compositing and editing artists to take generated material through final production.
• Research emerging AI image and video tools and develop repeatable production workflows.
• Manage project assets, prompts, references and source files in an organised manner.

Tools & Technical Skills

Hands-on experience with a combination of AI video and image-generation tools, such as:

• Runway
• Kling
• Google Veo
• OpenAI Sora
• Midjourney
• FLUX
• Stable Diffusion
• ComfyUI

Experience with ComfyUI, node-based workflows and custom AI pipelines is a strong advantage.

Familiarity with Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop or DaVinci Resolve is preferred.

We value your ability to produce consistent, high-quality results more than familiarity with any particular tool. You should be comfortable learning new platforms as the technology evolves.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in AI video production, filmmaking, motion design, video editing or a related creative field; exceptional portfolios will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of cinematography, shot composition, camera movement, lighting and visual storytelling.
• Practical experience generating and editing AI video for creative projects.
• Ability to work with visual references and reproduce specific styles, environments and camera movements.
• Understanding of continuity across multiple shots and sequences.
• Ability to evaluate generated footage critically and iterate until it meets production requirements.
• Understanding of how AI-generated footage can be combined with CGI, VFX and live-action footage.
• Strong creative judgement, attention to detail and willingness to experiment.
• Ability to work collaboratively and deliver projects within commercial timelines.
• A strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating AI-generated video work is mandatory.

Formal education in animation, filmmaking, visual effects or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.

What We're Looking For

We want someone who thinks like a filmmaker, experiments like an artist and works with the discipline of a production professional.

You should understand the difference between generating an impressive isolated clip and producing a coherent commercial film.

You should be able to think through an entire sequence: the opening frame, camera movement, visual progression, continuity, transition and final shot.

We are not looking for someone whose workflow ends at generating a clip. We are looking for someone who can turn an idea into a finished visual sequence.

Example of the Work You'll Create

Imagine a product commercial that begins with a smartphone floating in a dark environment. The camera moves closer as the surroundings transform into a snowstorm, an abstract landscape or a futuristic world. The sequence transitions into a dramatic product reveal before finishing on a clean hero shot.

You would develop and execute the AI-generated environments, motion and transitions, working with the CGI team to maintain product accuracy and with the post-production team to achieve the final commercial quality.

Portfolio Requirements

Your portfolio should ideally include

• AI-generated commercials and product films
• Cinematic AI video sequences
• Image-to-video and reference-to-video work
• Consistent multi-shot storytelling
• AI-generated environments and transformations
• AI + CGI or AI + live-action projects
• Experimental and spec advertising films

For three to five selected projects, be prepared to explain which tools you used, how you developed the workflow, how you maintained consistency and what additional editing or compositing was required.

Self-initiated and spec projects are welcome if the quality is exceptional.

What Success Looks Like

You should be able to receive a creative brief, develop a visual approach, generate and refine the required shots, maintain continuity and deliver high-quality video assets ready for compositing and editing.

Your work should help Matter Morph produce more ambitious visual campaigns while improving creative possibilities, production efficiency and consistency.
