A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Lichfield is looking for a dedicated and proactive Pastoral Support Officer to join its supportive pastoral team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about student wellbeing, behaviour and personal development . You will play an important role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, improve their behaviour and attendance, and achieve their full potential.

The Role

• Manage and support students with challenging behaviour.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
• Monitor behaviour, attendance and punctuality.
• Deliver targeted pastoral and behaviour interventions.
• Work closely with teachers, parents/carers and senior leaders.
• Support students with SEND and additional pastoral needs.
• Respond calmly and effectively to incidents and conflict.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Encourage positive choices, resilience and engagement with learning.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is calm, resilient, approachable and consistent , with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.

Experience within a secondary school, education, youth work or behaviour-support setting would be highly desirable.
