Who This Role Is For

This is not a conventional accounting or compliance role. This is a finance leadership position for someone who can build and own the financial backbone of a fast-growing consumer business.

We are looking for someone who combines strong financial fundamentals with commercial understanding and strategic thinking.

Someone who can ensure that every number is accurate, every financial process is robust, and every business decision is supported by reliable financial information.

You should be equally comfortable reviewing financial statements, building business projections, managing working capital, supporting fundraising discussions, and getting into the details of day-to-day financial operations.

You likely come from a fast-growing consumer, retail, D2C, or e-commerce business and understand the financial complexities of scaling a transaction-heavy organization.

You should be:

• A qualified Chartered Accountant with strong accounting and financial control fundamentals.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to connect financial numbers to business decisions.
• Experienced in financial planning, forecasting, and building detailed business projections.
• Comfortable working with founders and investors, including supporting fundraising and financial due diligence.
• Strong at building processes, implementing controls, and improving financial systems.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and willing to solve problems at the transaction level.
• A high-ownership leader who can build and develop a capable finance team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Controls

• Own accounting, monthly closures, financial statements, and management reporting.
• Establish robust internal controls, accounting policies, and financial SOPs.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of revenue, payment gateways, refunds, inventory, and vendor payments.
• Maintain financial accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness.

2. Financial Planning & Business Projections

• Own annual budgets, operating plans, and short- and long-term financial projections.
• Build integrated financial models covering revenue, profitability, cash flow, and capital requirements.
• Track actual performance against budgets and provide actionable business insights.
• Support strategic decisions through scenario planning and financial analysis.

3. Fundraising & Investor Relations

• Work closely with founders throughout fundraising, including financial modelling and investor due diligence.
• Prepare investor presentations, financial information, projections, and fundraising data rooms.
• Coordinate with investors, auditors, and advisors during fundraising.
• Own periodic investor reporting and support capital planning and dilution analysis.

4. Working Capital & Business Finance

• Own cash flow forecasting, treasury, and working capital management.
• Partner with production, procurement, and operations to optimize inventory investments.
• Monitor margins, unit economics, operating expenses, and profitability.
• Evaluate financial viability of new initiatives, channels, and offline expansion.

5. Compliance, Systems & Team Leadership

• Ensure GST, TDS, income tax, statutory compliance, and timely audits.
• Improve accounting systems, ERP processes, and financial automation.
• Build and lead a capable finance team with clear ownership and accountability.
• Establish scalable financial processes to support business growth.

Skills & Requirements

• Qualified CA with preferably 8 –10 years of post-qualification experience .
• Strong accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and internal control expertise.
• Experience in consumer, retail, D2C, fashion, or e-commerce businesses preferred.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
• Fundraising, investor reporting, and financial due diligence exposure desirable.
• Understanding of inventory accounting, working capital, and transaction-heavy businesses.
• High ownership, commercial thinking, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
